It was close to ending and this book helped me work through it. Chantal knows her stuff! I was given a copy of this book by Chantal after entering a radio contest. Even though I entered too late, she offered to send me a free copy! What an amazing and thoughtful gesture. I have learned so much from her book and find myself going back to it from time to time to remind myself of the lessons I’ve learned. Her anecdotal experiences make you feel like you are not alone in your struggles. She provides meaningful and helpful advice without being too pushy and sounding like a “know it all”. She relates to your experiences and humbles you in a good way. I would recommend this book to anyone who is stuck in their relationship, but truly wants to continue trying with their significant other. This book would not be the best for someone not willing to put considerable effort in without expecting much or even ANYTHING in return. This is a self help book that does not focus on changing your significant other but about changing yourself. It isn’t about his/her issues but YOUR issues. It makes you think about how your actions impact your significant other and how changing them could make a difference.

I met Chantal Heide at her book signing for “FIX THAT SHIT”. It was almost like we were destined to meet. At the time my relationship was in a sour state. Her book offered positive solutions to communicating more effectively, and understanding/learning how to control your own behaviour/emotions. No matter how new or old your relationship is, this book provides great advice for couples and individuals willing to change.
